Kate’s Simply Skinny Sausage Supper- The Game On! Diet
Sharing another favorite recipe from the Game On! Diet Book! I am finding that I have liked every recipe I’ve tried from this book. I also love that they are all pretty easy to cook. That’s the only type of cooking I like to do!

Aversion
Moist.
A lot of people don’t like hearing that word. I don’t understand why, I actually have no problem with it (I just said it out loud 3 times to confirm that it doesn’t bother me).
Apparently, there are people who have a physical aversion to “moist”, among other words. I can’t say that I have ever had a physical response to a word. I HATE the “N” word, but I don’t have a physical aversion to it.
I may not have Word Aversion to any words, but there are a few words that irritate me.

Krista’s Quick and Easy Breakfast - The Game On! Diet
I started The Game On! diet along with some friends a couple of days ago. I have tried a few of the recipes included in the book, The Game On! Diet: Kicking Your Friend’s Butt While Shrinking Your Own.
So far, my favorite recipe is Krista’s Quick and Easy Breakfast. Not only is it actually quick and easy, it is also really yummy. And it includes bread! Major bonus for me.

Game On! Diet Competition
I started a new diet on Tuesday. It is based on the book, The Game On! Diet: Kick Your Friend's Butt While Shrinking Your Own.
A friend of mine from Zumba did this diet recently to get rid of the “COVID 17” she put on during the COVID-19 quarantine.
A group of 8 of us split into teams of 4. For the next 4 weeks, we have to abide by the meal plan, water intake, and exercise plan. We also have to get rid of one bad habit and pick up a new good habit.
This is a points-based game. You get points for eating each meal (correctly), drinking 3 liters of water/day, exercising for 20 minutes, and so on.

The Charlie Chronicles (Part 5)
I was on my exercise bike this morning when the Fox Valley Animal Referral Center finally called with Charlie’s biopsy results.
I ran upstairs to get better reception.
Dr. Leonard, the vet, let me know that the tumor was unfortunately malignant.
Not the news we wanted.

The Charlie Chronicles (Part 4)
We got updates from the Fox Valley Animal Referral Center (FVARC) throughout the day letting us know Charlie was doing well, eating a bit, getting love from the staff, and spending time in the sun.
The staff member who seemed to be spending the most time with him told us that he would probably be ready to come home the next day, assuming things kept progressing as they were.
YAY!

The Charlie Chronicles (Part 3)
We got a call from the Fox Valley Animal Referral Center at around 2 am. Charlie was apparently not as receptive to the blood transfusion as they were hoping, so they were going to try different blood (I think). They needed our permission to proceed.
They got it.
Around 10 am, we got the text that Charlie was headed to surgery. We had been told it would take about hours. So, for the next two hours, we tried to busy ourselves around the house.

The Charlie Chronicles (Part 2)
The following day (Sept 2), the Fox Valley Animal Referral Center (FVARC) called us and we learned that it was indeed a tumor they had found.
They asked if we wanted to proceed with an exploratory surgery to see what was happening with the tumor/mass.
They told me that they may find that the tumor had spread and he may not have a lot of time.
It could also be benign, and hopefully, something that could be taken out and biopsied.
It is an expensive procedure, and they said choosing to euthanize was an understandable decision.
I cried.

The Charlie Chronicles (Part 1)
Last week was a tough week with Charlie, our Cairn Terrier.
Tuesday morning (Sept 1), I woke up to Charlie whining at the foot of the bed, wanting to come up. I got up and put him to bed.
A little later, I found 2 piles of dog poop. One in the hallway and one in the living room. This was unfortunately not an unusual situation. Charlie often goes potty in the house.
I also found 3 puddles of urine, one against the wall (also not unusual) and 2 other separate puddles nearby (that was a bit unusual).
I went back to bed to cuddle with Charlie and noticed he was acting really lethargic and shivering.

College Apartment
I heard about Jeff’s living “conditions” in our apartment complex when I was walking home from the bars one night in college. I was walking with a group of girls that I didn’t know all that well. One of the girls had previously been my RA and I ran into her while I was out with a couple of other friends. For some reason, I decided to stick with my RA and her group instead of continuing my night with the friends I had started with.

Milwaukee County Zoo
This part Friday, I tagged along with my parents to go visit my sister and nephew in Milwaukee. We took a trip to the Milwaukee County Zoo. We felt safe enough going there since it’s mainly outdoors.
The first exhibit when you walk in to the zoo is the penguins. If you didn’t already know this, I love penguins! I have been able to meet, pet, and paint with some penguins over the recent years, and those have been some of my favorite days!
Anyways, we looked at the penguins for awhile and Dad, like he does anytime penguins come up, told my nephew that I am the penguin lady.

11 Years
Yesterday, Jeff and I celebrated 11 years together. Since it’s a little difficult to actually go somewhere to celebrate, it consisted of us staying home and spending most of the day together. We watched a movie and got some things done around the house.
The main project we finished is our Patio Swing. Between damaged parts, poor instructions, and things going wrong on nearly every step, and lots of swearing by Jeff, it took us months to finally get the damn thing finished.

Indoor & Outdoor Zumba
I have been out and about to a few stores since businesses are re-opening.
Before, I only went inside Costco and Menards due to their mask-wearing requirements. I have now branched out to Target, Festival (grocery store), and T.J. Maxx.

Helping My Mom with Her Smart TV
I’m gonna preface this post by stating that I love my mother. I am not trying to make fun of her, just the situation.
I attempted to help my mom get her Directv to work with her new Smart TV this morning.
Over the phone.
According to my sister, I deserve a medal for it.
It wasn’t easy, and I’m not sure that I even helped her much since I’ve never actually had to connect Directv to my own TV. I do not know what I am doing.

Learn to Love Myself
I married a great guy.
He is never anything but supportive of me, even when I’m not supportive of myself.
For example, I haven’t been happy about the way my body looks for awhile now. I have Scoliosis in my lower back, which makes my hips look off-balance. I have love handles. I also seem to carry all my extra weight in my tummy.
I am aware I’m am not the only one with these issues. These are all common things that women dislike about their bodies.

Being a Store-Owner During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Being a Store-Owner
It is a crazy time right now for everyone.
It’s been a really weird time to be a store-owner.
I’ve rarely been to our store, The Game Capital, since we let some of the staff return to work (when it was deemed safe). There is no real reason that I need to be at the store physically in order to do my computer work. So, I stay home.

How Hard is it to Wear a Mask?
I have had mixed emotions about people during this time of quarantine due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Today is a good example.
The Good
I was doing a round of disinfecting door knobs and light switches before heading out to get some food and I heard a bunch of car horns honking.

Self-Distancing
I have been self-distancing for about a month now. Maybe more, maybe less. It’s hard to keep track anymore. I know a lot of people are in the same boat.
The days seem to go by in 5 minutes, yet the weeks go by slowly. It’s weird and confusing.
I am less stressed than I was at the beginning of all of this. We have been able to keep having an income and have been able to continue operating the business. It was just Jeff and I fulfilling online orders for a bit

Zumba Instructor?
I am trying a “new” thing during this quaratine. I have started online training to become a Zumba Instructor!
I have always wanted to have access to all the zumba music and choreography that I learn in my Zumba classes. Sometimes, I just want to know what a song I like is called so I can dowload it for myself

Birthday Cakes
It was a few days before my birthday a couple of years ago.
I had started a tradition of getting my birthday cake from my favorite local bakery, Uncle Mike’s Bake Shoppe.
In past years, I was able to order my cake online. I would even be able to add how I wanted the cake to be decorated and what I wanted it to say. Usually just some flowers and, “Happy Birthday Hilary!”.
I plan my life out a day at a time, so my posting schedule can be erratic.
